Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Education and Intercultural Communication
The Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Education and Intercultural Communication is an in-ter-faculty platform for research and teaching cooperation, associating employees of the Faculty of Modern Languages of the University of Warsaw and the Faculty of Education of the University of Warsaw conducting research and undertaking initiatives in the field of intercultural education, intercultural communication and support in the process of adaptation and integration of people from different cultural backgrounds, with particular emphasis on children, pupils and students with migration experience and special educational needs.
The Centre’s activities are consistent with the priorities in the field of humanities and social sciences and focus on postulates relating to intercultural research, scientific, educational, and popularization activities.
The topics of interdisciplinary research organized by the Center concern:
- contemporary challenges in intercultural communication and education,
- participatory research approaches, especially in the context of cultural diversity,
- humanizing methodology and transformative research approaches,
- inclusive practices in the research process,
- collaborative intercultural participatory activities of children, teachers, students, and scholars,
- child’s perspective in the research process,
- communication and intercultural education in teacher education.
The Center invites all researchers and educators, regardless of their affiliation, as well as representatives of the socio-economic environment undertaking activities in the aforementioned areas, to collaborate.
